Convict Research Seminar

Caloundra Family History will hold the Convict Research Seminar on 5 August 2023. This seminar is open to the public, other family history groups, interested persons and CFH members to attend.

Between 1788 and 1868, the British Government transported over 160,000 convicts from Britain and Ireland to the Australian colonies.  Could one have been an ancestor of yours?  Learn where you can find your convict relatives in both overseas and Australian records, and the reason they were transported.

There will be four speakers talking on a variety of convict-related topics. Speakers include Helen V. Smith, Vicki Osborn, Shauna Hicks and Trisha Hyde. Speaker profiles and program details on the Caloundra Family History Event Page on the website. 

Plus a break for lunch and both morning tea & lunch will be provided including gluten-free options. Please note when registering if you require gluten-free options.
